I used to come here often when I went to school nearby and came today since I was in the area. I decided to try the spaghetti bread and a few of the pastries that were new. The spaghetti bread was just ok, I wouldn't get it again. I also got the tomatoes bread with cheese and hot dog but it tasted a bit stale (the bread was sticking to the paper so was a bit hard to take off). They also had some new pastries on the menu such as the UFO green tea / chocolate flavor bread. Whenever I go here I would always like ordering the triangle seaweeds roll from here. My to go to would always be the triangle salmon roll. Overall it's a nice small affordable pastries spot that I would go to if in the area! Great for a quick snack! ”

“ I've been to Clover Bakery before for their pastries but didn't realize they also sell cakes. While searching for a strawberry shortcake birthday cake for my partner, I came across their bakery. Their website mentioned a 3-day notice for cake orders, but I needed one the next day. I decided to call, and to my surprise, they said they could have a 6" cake ready by the following day. They were very communicative and even called to let me know they needed a bit more time before my pickup. The bakery itself is small, with a nice selection of pastries displayed along the wall when you walk in. The cake was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced--not overly sweet! It was incredibly light, and the strawberries were fresh. I usually avoid whipped cream on cakes because it's often too sweet and heavy, but that wasn't the case with this strawberry cake. My partner loved it, and there were plenty of leftovers for the two of us to enjoy later. ”

“ This super busy Japanese bakery has a wide variety of Japanese delicacies- bread, onigiri/musubi, sandos, cakes, coffee, and tea. I called in on a Saturday morning to see if a last minute birthday cake was available. To my delight, I was told that they had a 6 inch strawberry cake was available and that a hold could be placed for me. A 6 inch cake for $24 is honestly steal. Unfortunately, no decorations could be made on the cake since it was so last minute. Additionally, they don't provide any birthday signs, plates, or candles. Next time, I will call in a few days earlier if cake decoration is required. Now, the moment you have all been waiting for- how was the cake you might ask? Honestly before I grabbed a cake from Clover, I was a little worried because I had read varying reviews that were positive to negative. So, upon the first bite, my expectations were low. However, I was pleasantly surprised to taste a wonderfully light and delicious cake that was praised overwhelmingly by Asian parents of all people. First of all, the cake was not too sweet. The cream was light and lightly sweet, the cake texture was bouncy and had a fragrant egg flavor. The strawberries were a little randomly spread about the cake so each bite didn't have a same amount of strawberries but that wasn't a huge issue. The strawberries were also noticeable fresh and not too sour but not too sweet. Not bad at all for $24 really. I will definitely be coming back for cake on the next occasion, especially since my boyfriend who doesn't even like sweets got seconds. ”

“ First time here and we will be back for sure. Reasonably priced and very good quality. They had tons of other bakery items but we stuck with the onigiri for today. We ended up getting spicy tuna, miso pork, teriyaki chicken, unagi, and salmon sake. All very good and just nit picking at this point, but the miso pork could have used a little more meat in it. The flavor was great but wanted more! The spicy tuna was also good and had a decent kick to it ! Would highly recommend this place! Especially with all the different onigiri, you'll find one you like. Lastly, service was quick and easy! ”

“ Love coming here and they are really friendly and the food is affordable for how fresh it is. The spicy tuna sandwich def is pretty spicy FYI. I had it with their green tea latte which was made to order and was fresh and just the right mix of matcha, coffee, and milk. The ikura salmon onigiri was warm and so umami with its salty and rich flavor contrasted with the crispy seaweed and fluffy white rice. I am saving the pastries for later so I'll have to update the review with comments on those. Worth coming to check out this authentic Japanese bakery that has so much more than just simple pastries with its delicious barista, Musubi, onigiri, bread, and sandwiches. ”

“ Clover Bakery is THE best Japanese bread store in the South Bay (IMHO). Looking for that delicious curry bread or onigiri? This is the place. Come early (before 10am) on weekends to avoid the long lines. Though don't fret if you make it in late as the lines go relatively quick. They have limited space inside so once lined up and you make it to the door, you'll go grab your bread items from the right side (remember to use the tongs). The recs: 1. Onigiri - aka rice triangle balls with various insides from spam or fish eggs to salmon or eel. Definitely a must. Order onigiri at the register 2. Shrimp bread - ugh, SO GOOD. I don't know what is inside it other than it's shrimp, fluffy, and creamy. Grab from the side bread aisle 3. Curry bread - another must have. 4. Small strawberry cakes - light, slightly sweet whipped-cream cake that's good for 2-3 people. Great for a small celebration (ask for it at the counter). 5. Coffees/teas - not fancy by any means but can get a latte or matcha etc for relatively lower cost than nearby coffee shops (order at the register) ”

“ My favorite little bakery in SJ if not all of the greater Bay Area. Thank you to the viral videos that led me here. There's usually a line out the door and they do sell out of popular options but it's so worth it. The masago bread is my absolute favorite. I could live off these. They do limit you to four of each item (so I guess I can only live off of them for a day). Lots of bread options, both sweet and savory as well as a great selection of onigiri, spam musubi, cakes, drinks. Staff are always so nice and constantly replenishing bread. Line goes by fairly quickly. ”

“ *This is purely a review for their strawberry cake. If you love simple fresh whipped cream cakes like me, you've got to try this one at Clover. STRAWBERRY CAKE: Fresh whipped cream that is perfectly sweetened balanced with the also slightly sweetened airy cake and tart strawberry slices. It's my #1 strawberry shortcake, but i'd eat it with any other fruit or even on its own because it's THAT good. I believe they have the smaller 4 inch and 6 inch on display for sale, but otherwise you should pre-order to ensure you get a cake if that's what you're looking for. ”
